Bandage rolling, flag day, Pip Sqeak and Wilfred medals, jobs for wounded soldiers, bread rationing, comfort boxes for the boys at the Front – just some of the activities that The History Van brought to Sheffield Cathedral last Saturday when we joined other heritage and faith groups to present aspects of ‘When Sheffield Went to War’.
‘Just a line to say thanks for your great input into the WW1 event here on Saturday – VAD Nurse Norton was certainly a great success! Lots of positive feedback for your activities which as usual were fantastic.’
Janet Ridler, Heritage Learning Officer, The Cathedral Church of St Peter & St Paul, Sheffield
