For my Viking and Anglo Saxon workshops I am purchasing two of the below shields. As you can see, they are currently unpainted. I would like to see you come up with a design. The winning design will be painted on, and the shields will be used in my workshops
You can choose to either to do a Viking design or an Anglo Saxon design, but I ALSO need to see the reasons why you chose certain colours or why you included certain symbols – can you do some research to back up your explanations?
It can be a completely traditional design, true to Viking or Anglo Saxon, or it could have a modern twist to it.
I will choose the top 3 Viking designs and the top 3 Anglo Saxon designs. 1 winner from each will be picked to have their design painted onto the shield. The 2nd and 3rd place will also get a prize. Maximum age of entrants = 14 years old.
